If I wanted to make the UK fail I would:

Explode the national debt.

Spend £billions on wind turbines and solar panels so that only rich landowner friends can make a fortune.

Print money on a massive scale to undermine the wealth of the middle class.

Destroy the pension system and ensure that pensioners become a thing of the past.

Ramp-up State dependency.

Destroy the education system.

Have wide open national borders.

Provide State benefits to the whole world.

Engage in illegal wars.

Back foreign despotic regimes with UK taxpayers' money.

Subject the UK to a foreign and undemocratic power using the excuse of a Common Market.

Sign over the justice system to a foreign Court.

nah we are doing that now, and no change, its not a political solution, its a political problem, nobody has the political will to do anything about it, as if you stop or cut the benefit system there would be a mass migration from these shores, but with the amount of jobless people the argument we need their skills has fallen flat, and the thinking we need them here to create a demand for goods and services is just plain stupid, we need people all over the world to create the demand, its like borrowing from yourself.
