Quote: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/banksandfinance/9371919/Bob-Diamond-resignation-George-Osborne-welcomes-his-departure.html Quote: Mr Osborne said that "no one more than me" would like to see Ed Balls, the shadow chancellor who was closely involved with the Treasury at the time of the scandal, "in the dock" Strong indications this morning that this latest Banking scandal goes to the heart of Brown's administration!! Diamond is in front of the select committee tomorrow, some are expecting him to put the knife in... Suggestion is someone (very high up) @ BOE told Barclays to fiddle the Libor rate.... The question will be did the BOE get their instructions from the Government! |

That is precisely what I was alluding to yesterday: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=498I think this scandal has the potential to thoroughly shake-up the whole of the banking and political arenas. It could also be part of a process to create ever-tighter political control. |
