Does anyone have any experience of Virgin and BT Infinity? I'm with Virgin and am considering moving to BT, mainly for better speed.

Thanks

I am with Virgin and recently contacted them regarding the original equipment I had from the time I was with Telewest. I explained I wanted to purchase new equipment and what could they advise, they talked me into upgrading my broadband to 30mb and supply the latest Virgin Hub (Netgear product) for self installation (so easy) and this all FREE OF CHARGE. It might be worth giving them a call and see what is on offer!! As for BT, not sure of there latest services but their previous service was not very good, too much pixelation and slow service.

I am so happy with the speed, downloading is now a breeze and I know there are faster downloads available!! I have what I want for the now as I dont download films or anything.

I was with Virgin for years till I moved a month ago. I was extremely happy with them in every respect.

Which company do you use now Jon?

I use the old style BT Broadband. We have unlimited downloads and it's fast enough for us. We keep getting letters from BT asking us to upgrade to Infinity but haven't done so. We'll probably have to upgrade one day though. We have been very happy using BT.

Exactly. I'm with O2 on a legacy contract. I may only get 6 Mbps but for what I do it's plenty fast enough and it's cheap as chips.

Plus I've got a free UK 24x7 helpline should I need it.

I'm with BT and have the full Infinity FTTC product, got upgraded for free now get just under 80Mbs upload and 60Mbs download speeds.

Really great as I put an 8 port router/switch on the line and have three PCs, my laptop, Xbox and BTVision all running at the same time, oh and my iphone and wifes Nokia on the wireless router BT Hub3.

Only the odd glitch when the line speed drops to about 5Mbs but reset the BT Hub3 and all is back to normal. It gets a little over heated where it is.

The biggest problem with Wi Fi seems to be getting your excellent broadband signal from one room into the next!!

Not sure why but we have two wifi connections at our house. I can use either. Hubby installed the second one to watch Love Film on our TV and it works well (even though we only have the old BT Broadband set up)
