I would like to say a Very Big Thank You to everyone who takes the time and trouble to read my weather ramblings, and of course those who take even more time and trouble to reply.

Sometime on Monday November 18th 2013 this topic received it's 30,000th viewing since this website was re-started in January 2012. It just goes to show that our alleged obsession with the weather is more than just a myth :!: :!:

As a celebration of this landmark figure I invite you all to take part in the Daily Express Front Page Headline Bingo Competition ;)

http://expressbingo.org.uk

In the 37 days since October 12th this ' newspaper' has plastered weather related headlines on it's front page no fewer than 15 times. I have yet to see one that is even remotely accurate or has any basis in fact.

Thank you all once again, and take care, whatever the weather.

Moley. 8-)

Well done, and we do read your predictions with more interest than the professionals who seem to always give the worst and then a bit more for impact.

I just need next week Tuesday into Wednesday to be above freezing. Can you see if you can organise it :D

Good evening one and all. To be honest I haven't got anywhere near looking ahead as far as next week yet. Laid low with a chest infection and I have also been trying to catch up with some recent major weather events in the American Midwest, and closer to home, some devastating storms in Sardinia. :(

Just a quick heads up though regarding London and The South East. As Low Pressure heads down the North Sea dragging colder air behind it there is an increasing risk of snow showers developing in our region from Wednesday afternoon and evening and overnight into the early hours of Thursday.

Don't panic don't panic !!

The situation is borderline and any snow which does fall is highly unlikely to settle except perhaps briefly on higher ground, and even there probably just a temporary dusting. No need for the snow chains and stockpiling of supplies just yet.

I hope to be able to update the development over the next 24 hours.

Many thanks. Moley 8-)
