Today is my first day of bliss

Hoping to wash the car but it's a bit damp and miserable out there :(

The temperature drops a few degrees and everyone is grumbling!

I travel to work by public transport at 05:30. Ok, it was cooler - but you would have thought a second ice age had arrived when you listen to my colleagues (mainly the female ones) grumble about being cold :)

*** UPDATED WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 8TH 2014 @ 12:05pm ***

Although it's not yet apparent in the London area, some very unstable conditions are now affecting the South East with several reports of localised flooding and wind damage coming in from Sussex and Kent.

Heavy, squally, and at times thundery showers may well crop up anywhere in our region in the next few hours, and where they do conditions are likely to deteriorate quite rapidly. If you are out and about please take care.

I washed the car last Thursday so it's been taunting me ever since to take it out of the garage. Sort of cat and mouse :D

Haha....I hope you are thoroughly enjoying your retirement Mr Kremmen.

Apart from the earlier downpours further south the main storm threat seems to have stayed further west for the rest of this afternoon though I wouldn't rule anything out just yet.

What high wind ?

Heathrow reduced service, woman sadly killed by a tree in London. I've been outside for some of the morning and I've seen higher winds when there wasn't this build up. Yes a bit windy but nothing to write home about.

Maybe my immediate area was just lucky ?

Unfortunately Kremmen ' this build up ' was a direct result of ill informed lazy journalism and a race to the bottom when it comes to imparting information. The usual suspects were right at the forefront.....the Daily Express and their idiotic lapdog Nathan Rao.

It would be laughable were it not for the fact that a large percentage of the population see these headlines on the front page and believe them. Then when it doesn't happen they tend to blame the Met Office :(

The midweek storm was nothing at all out of the ordinary for the UK, just typical autumn weather and there will probably be several more like it in the weeks to come. It's normal. Trying to get that message across to the general public is like spitting against the wind I'm sorry to say.

The end is nigh.....apparently. :o

Same old scaremongering lies and nonsense from the same old sources I'm sorry to say. They really are a disgrace and yet incredibly some folk still see and believe this absolute tosh. It's not even remotely funny anymore.

Moley :(

Just guessing, but if they are right it'll be the old, we told you first nonsense.
