Nor me. My car has to be parked on the road outside the house because we don't have room for a garage. I've done my share of scraping ice from the windscreen though - if it ices up these days I just wait till it thaws out before I leave home.

Not even a hint of frost around LBH this morning with a minimum of 5.7c recorded at Northolt this morning and temperatures nudged up to 10-11c ( 50-52f ) by late afternoon.

As we head towards and into the weekend the mercury is set to fall for 2-3 days, so daytime maximums probably closer to 6-8c on Friday/Saturday/Sunday before recovering slightly again next week. Stiil fairly quiet on the weather front throughout this time.

The following weekend ( December 6-8th ) is still generating a fair bit of interest among some weather enthusiasts though, as there are signs of much colder air reaching the UK by then. In my opinion it is still too early to predict, and I would say the risk is low to moderate for now. One to keep an eye on though.

Well some weather apps and forecasts were predicting snow as far south as London and the South East next weekend and whilst it's still a long way off I would rate the chances as between 0-10%.

High pressure looks set to remain in charge, pushing the cold air further east over the continent.

Well that worked well :D

Started washing the car about 11. Just finished about 2(ish) and reversed it into the garage and it started raining.

I find this stubborn grey blanket of cloud day after day quite depressing. During the next few days the only real prospect of change seems to be in the form of some fairly strong winds and colder temperatures thanks to a deepening area of Low Pressure sweeping across the North Sea and into Northern Europe later in the week.

This Low threatens to introduce a brief spell of northerly winds and colder air for 2 or 3 days, but nothing much to concern ourselves with here in London and The South East. That said a cold front is expected to cross the country late on Thursday, dragging the cold air behind it. As the front crosses our region a spell of rain may turn very briefly to sleet/snow in the early hours of Friday morning. If at all, this will most likely be on high ground to the north of London, so The Chilterns most probably.

Daytime temperatures will be several degrees lower by Friday and possibly remain on the low side into Saturday and Sunday. Anywhere between 4-8c is likely, with the coldest temperatures towards the east of our region. This Low Pressure system is packing quite a punch as it heads into northern Europe and deepens further.

Beyond that there are signs of High Pressure settling close to or over the UK early next week, and would indicate another spell of dry, settled and mostly cloudy weather, becoming milder. In fact with the upper air temperatures expected with this High, and winds coming from the south, we could be looking at daytime temperatures of 14-16c if the sun manages to break through. A similar set-up occuring in Summer would produce some very high temperatures.

Thank you for reading and posting. Moley 8-)

Soon be a hosepipe ban then. It does look quite depressing out there though.

I think a hosepipe ban is a very, very long way off yet Kremm. Has to be said though it's been a very dry Autumn for some parts of the country.

I now only work 3 days a week in the office and 2 at home so the car doesn't get as dirty now :)

^^^ That's good news Kremm and a relief to cut back on that M25 commute no doubt.

I'm just catching up on the development of this low pressure system and it looks quite troublesome for the whole of Scotland, some parts of Northern Ireland, and Northern England as far south as a line roughly drawn from Liverpool to The Wash.

Much of Scotland will be affected by strong to severe gales for a time on Thursday with the main area of concern being the heavily populated Central Belt. The strongest winds there are being predicted to occur at the worst possible time, during the ( Thursday ) morning commute. Gusts there could reach 70-80mph for a time.

The low then heads across the North Sea, gaining strength all the while as the pressure continues to fall and the wind strength increases.

Coastal regions of the Netherlands and Germany are at risk of flooding as the storms arrival there later tomorrow afternoon coincides with not just any old high tide, but a spring high tide.

For London and The South East though it will undoubtably be colder for a few days, and breezy at times, but nothing serious to concern us.
