Just seen an ad up the top of the page for a Crossrail 2 Consultation being carried out by the Mayor of London. This will be the Mayor who consulted on raising the congestion charge. 77% said NO and he did it anyway.

They say one thing and then do the opposite a few years later.

Or in the case of the Tories promise one thing then keep promising it year on year but never do it.

What actually changed when Boris took over from Ken? Did Boris reverse any of Ken's extreme Left policies; such as abolish the so-called Congestion Charge – no, Boris has significantly increased the Congestion Charge?

From where I am standing the only changes that have taken place since Boris took over is the replacing of that annoying nasal voice with the public actions of a high-wire fluffy headed buffoon; the political direction remains unchanged.

It's the same at central government, Blair/ Brown give way to Cameron/Clegg, but NOTHING changes; national borders remain wide open, the insane green agenda continues to be applied, the EU remains our taskmaster against our wishes, the State continues to behave like Big Brother – only more so, the armed forces are severely weakened, taxation continues to increase, paedophiles in high places go unchallenged, the Chilcot Inquiry remains unpublished, the BBC through Capita continues to harass and threaten legally licence free residents, the pound in our pockets is constantly being devalued, and the banksters retain their control – and now we have the very real threat of 'bail in' being used to plunder savers' bank deposits to 'save the banks'. And we continue to hear reports of MPs fiddling (making mistakes) with their expenses.

The political parties routinely raise the question of low turn-out at the polls, and then proceed to accuse the electorate of apathy. When in fact, apart from the very suspect party loyalists and die-hards, the electorate have largely seen through the game of political charades that the LibLabCon have been playing on us for decades.. Most of us now know that whoever is 'in power' the same policies will be applied against us whether we agree or not; hence the rise in support for UKIP - but even UKIP support the insane green agenda – which is really an extreme form fascism in disguise.

Ken was threatening to CC the western section of the M25 and the M4 corridor to Heathrow. Boris hasn't continued with this. Plus didn't he remove the west London CC in Kensington and Chelsea?

I will add that the M25 is getting more congested month on month.

My 'stats' have been for a few years that on a

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday circa 16:30 I could drive from junction 11 (Chertsey) to junction 15 (M4) without having to stop and often above 50 mph
Thursday the tail of the queue was junction 13 (A30)
Friday the tail was junction 12 (M3)

the stats now are, and have been most of this year:

Monday perhaps a clear slow run but more often tail at junction 14 (terminal 5)
Tuesday, Wednesday tail at junction 13
Thursday tail at junction 12
Friday tail already prior to my join at junction 11

I now WFH on a Thursday & Friday so I miss the worst of it. Come October I will miss all of it :D

That's all fascinating Kremmen. I'm a regular on the M25 these days between the M3 and M4 but as I work nights it's usually OK. If I do stumble across jams I usually find junction hopping takes most of the pain away. I would so love to WFH!!

I'm not a regular, but I often find myself on a Tuesday at 17:15 trying to get from Junction 13 to 15, when the queue is already at 13. I have found it possible to keep moving by staying in the left lane, following the almost empty slip road to T5, round the roundabout at the terminal and back onto northbound motorway in the comparatively empty lanes to the M4.

Junctions 13 and 14 (clockwise) can indeed be speeded up by leaving via the sliproad and rejoining. A ploy I have been using for many years now.

In the opposite direction anti-clock (Heathrow/M4 to Chertsey/J11) is almost always a continual nose to tail Mon-Fri circa 16:30. I put that down to where the M3 joins the M25 and the lack of sensible driving these days.

Traffic congestion is just another symptom of the failed LibLabCon immigration policies.
Years ago the answer was build another road/motorway or widen the ones we already have.

Of course those options have by and large been all used up now and the 'growth to fit' estimates they made said the widening projects would last for years.

Oh how wrong they were.

Of course another way of looking at it is it allows a resident of say Kent or Essex to work at Heathrow or vice versa and have a direct route home/to work. Before the M25 was built (I can remember back that far) this wasn't feasible.

Be interesting to see how they go about 'fixing it' this time because it isn't going to be getting any better anytime soon.

I agree. I suppose the jams are self policing in that as people get cheesed off they will find other ways of getting about ?

I used to drive to Vauxhall but if I was moved back there now I would 100% use public transport now.

Correction Geezer, traffic congestion is a direct result of the UN's Agenda 21, which the LibLabCon have been only too pleased to implement. A stop on road building and improvements; together with every application of anti-private transport schemes the undemocratic, people-hating, Common Purpose driven, enforcers in central and local government can come up with all serve to reduce/remove our freedoms to travel and to express ourselves.

The open-doors policy on immigration that the 'three parties', actually one LibLabCon party of treason, have imposed on the UK over recent decades greatly adds to creating the desired congestion in traffic and housing. And since the whole of the LibLabCon have/are refusing to build more road capacity; the 'problem' will require further taxation/price increases in order to 'manage' the existing road system through a road pricing scheme. Taxation and carbon credits are seen as the political solution to 'managing' the road system under the UN's Agenda 21. According to the zealots who support Agenda 21, roads represent freedom for the masses, and the “save the planet” cry is used to justify not increasing road capacity. In the New World Order roads must be restricted only to the elite – the slaves do not need to travel, neither do the require the freedom of expression.pacity.
