You make so many good points in your post Westonman it's difficult to respond to them all.

It's an undeniable fact that the police services in the so called 'free west ' are becoming ever more militarised, a trend which not surprisingly started in the USA when police forces there were handed surplus military equipment in recent years. There are growing concerns about the deployment of this type of equipment and military style tactics on suburban streets, as seen in the recent Ferguson, MO disturbances :

We have seen a similar trend here in the UK, though whilst not quite to the same extent yet, I think it's only a matter of time. I've said it before and I will say it again, we are sleepwalking into a police state. The rich and powerful are building the drawbridges, and when the inevitable happens they will be pulled up, leaving the rest of us to fend for ourselves.

Moley, I appreciate it being difficult for any of us to respond to the kind of points I'm making. The fact that those questions demand an full in depth answer from the political elite, the same people who are increasingly demonstrating the characteristics that historically would have been associated with any dictatorship, is frightening.

The likes of the LibLabCon in the persons of Blair, Brown, Miliband, Clegg, Cable, Cameron, Hague, etc. etc. ad-infinitum are all very quick to criticise foreign governments for their extremist dictatorial regimes. But the very same people are very quick to impose what appears to be a militaristic regime on what constitutes as their standard of a 'democratic society'.

If it looks like a police state, then it probably is a police state – and it is increasingly looking and sounding like a police state.
