The big problem is getting the native British person out to vote. 'They' always turn out in full to vote 'their' people in.

Nigel needs his supporters and people who think his way to turn out in full, then there would be an upset I'm sure.
But then – there is the very real possibility/probability of electoral fraud through the postal vote system – which hands back influence to the LibLabCON.

Very true. When I was working the postal vote was my my only route but I may cancel that now and vote in person.

I think UKIP will do huge damage to the other parties even if they don't win many seats. I think they'll influence the outcone both ways in lots of seats. I also think they're going to be very bad news for the Lib Dems.
I agree with all that. The problem will be, if UKIP fail to win an outright majority and only gain a handful of seats. Then whatever is left of the Libs, Labs, CONS, and maybe the Greens, form an effective one party government coalition, with a small number of UKIP and others presenting no real opposition to the coalition of evil. I include the Greens (however few of them) in that coalition mix because in terms of their aims they are no different to the LibLabCon. A LibLabConGreen coalition may even be presented as a coalition of 'unity' in these desperate times.

Now we can see that a coalition IS being actively pursued by the 'main' parties and their leaders.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politic ... iband.html
Miliband is looking for a coalition:
Quote:
]Labour's hopes of forming a coalition after the general election have been boosted after Peter Robinson, Northern Ireland's First Minister, said there is "no question" his party could do "business" with Ed Miliband.
The Democratic Unionist Party leader openly hinted at an agreement between the pair during a joint press conference and said he hoped no one wins a majority next May so smaller parties could have more influence.

Cameron is also looking for a coalition with the same people:
Quote:
David Cameron has made explicit attempts to woo the Northern Irish party, holding a drinks reception with their MPs at Number 10 last year.

Once Cross rail is up and running it will have the effect of lifting property prices and attracting a 'better class of resident' to Hayes Town and the streets around the railway station.

Not necessarily.... some far worse parts of south and north London quickly became trendy without any name change.

I wonder what is the legal position on these fruit and veg shops that sprawl well out into the pathway?

There is one near the old Woolies shop in the pedestrianised area that is restricting the pathway as it is near street furniture.

As amazing as the turnaround has been in places like Hackney, the sort of people who've bought there want to be in Zones 2-4 with access to the London Overground and a tube station, even with Crossrail I can't see the attraction of somewhere between the Airport and Southall full of Somalians, Scroates and Beds in Sheds, even the housing stock isn't up to par with inner London.

It is illegal, there is no will on the part of the council to enforce the law for pretty much the same reasons as why the police in South Yorkshire allowed the blatant abuse of all then youngsters to go on unchecked.

They would be accused of racism as only one type of shop owner tries to take over the pavement spaces.

Councils are at liberty as far as I know able to licence part of the pavement space for outside tables (cafe's, pubs and the like) but off set the cost of inspection and enforcement through the sale of licences.
