Is there such a thing?

Just looking for somewhere that doesn't look or feel threatening, the local shops and cafe's can't recommend any?

Quite like to do a pub quiz mid week too

No replies says it all really although one of this near the parade of shops has reopened under new management and looks almost inviting.

Anyone been there yet?

We have a plan to venture out this Saturday just to experience the local pubs, perhaps I will do a write up on each one we visit.

Any ideas of criteria?

I don't do pubs so can't help you. Years ago my local was the Paddington Packet Boat in Cowley but it's changed hands now and been renovated so I couldn't say what it's like these days.

Yes I've been to the Paddington Packet Boat to W@H as they had free wifi and it is nice to get out of the house. It wasn't too bad.

On the subject of pubs, though not in West Drayton, I recently discovered one of my local haunts from many moons ago has closed down and become a Costcutter store. It used to be The Oak Tree, in Ryefield Avenue.

Didn't that happen a while back? It was in the Gazette when they were trying to get planning permission for the shop.

Where is the nearest pub for those people now then? (within walking distance)

1. Beer Quality (Scale of 1 - 10, 1 being the worst).

2. Eye Candy (Scale as per above).

I would imagine The Swallow next to Hillingdon Station ( where I had my first ever pint in a pub, ) or The Hillngdon Arms in Sutton Court Road.
