Privatising the police... an old article but one I hadn't seen before:

The Defence Fire Risk Management Organisation (DFRMO) - The umbrella group who provide military fire service cover to MoD premises in the UK across the world are also about to be privatised. A worrying idea when international terrorism and international relations with Russia and China are all a bit wobbly

Some DFRMO staff will have access to all areas of Top Secret sites and those relating to national security. How privatising DFRMO is to be achieved whilst maintaining secrecy is beyond me. Perhaps, like Hinkely Point - keeping the Chinese away is a start!

Then after DFRMO, IMO Local Authority Fire Services will be next.

Cuts are already biting here, with the number of people dying in fires now increasing after years of reductions

In addition, 3 x fire services attempting to introduce 96 hour shifts. Yes, shifts - not 96 hr weeks. So a shift that starts at 09:00 on Monday, will not end till 0900 on Thursday with firefighters living at the station - like they did in Victorian days. The HSE say it's illegal and stopped S Yorks doing it, but others will try as it saves a packet. And what do the firefighters get for more than doubling their week - a 20% pay rise! You couldn't make it up!

Utter, utter insanity. The idea is that in the end, governments will run nothing. Everything will be run by global corporations.

Privatisation of essential state-run services destroys democratic accountability and the independent nation state at a stroke.

We can all see what the 'privatisation of the gas, electric, water, British Telecom, British Airways, and mutual building societies has led to. The little folk were encouraged to invest their savings in shares of these organisations; when the share prices rose, as was planned and intended, the little people sold off their shares in order to collect their profits to spend on high value purchases and holidays. The globalist corporations then moved in and mopped up all the cheap shares to form monopolies of supply, then the prices to the consumers sky-rocketed, wiping out any gains made by the original small people purchasers. Now essential energy and water supplies are in the hands of ruthless greedy global corporations devoid of all humanity.

Privatised police will result in a ruthless and corporatist controlled global police force that will see the end of all national boundaries and the arrival of a ruthless one-world police state.

Whilst I whole heartedly agree that there must be a red line when it comes to losing control by privatising essential services - and I hope May has done just that and will stop Hinckley Point - I am not sure it will ever lead to an Orwellian global state.

The EU is about to implode so I can't see a bigger club being formed any time soon -

Perhaps we need a Corbyn to bring back these activities under public ownership and control? I say this with a great deal of hesitation and apprehension.
