I see Asda have been refused permission to start a store at Fairey Corner.

Shame in a way because their low fuel prices are legendary and would likely have an effect across Hayes.

Good news is that they intend to appeal.

And so they should the choice we have is,take it or leave it Tesco 2 Sainsbury 1 Asda nil it seems we have two choices other than go out of the Borough, that I often do.

The councils argument was that the site is a designated manufacturing site and should stay so.

Now, from memory, wasn't it a Hitachi office block in a former life ? Hardly manufacturing !

Have Lidl finally got permission to open a store in Cowley (next to SMC on the High Road)

I can't find anything online about it but the lady I give a lift to in the mornings told me that's what was happening to that site.

have you popped into it BG? I just use the big new Tesco up the road from here. No need to go anywhere else

Asda have sent their application to the Secretary of State on appeal! Do a search on Tesco's own site and see how many pins appear on the map for Hillingdon and the surrounding boroughs. Tesco certainly have done their homework and could probably say they have achieved their aim as the competition is non existent.
