^^ Spot on Pam.

The next time it appears I think we should all do a dance to celebrate its return.

I keep looking on teletext and go to the 5 day forecast hoping that day 5 will start showing some temperature increase - no luck so far :(

Its been a long time since I have posted here but some of you will be aware of the reasons why, and I am keeping this update brief for now.

The northern blocking which has been in place for much of this winter and spring finally shows signs of giving way as the Jet Stream heads north and the Atlantic Ocean exerts its influence during the coming days.

Temperatures should gradually climb towards near average levels (10-12c...50-54f ) but Thursday could see some heavy rain for much of London and The South East.

The weekend is showing some promise for a plume of very warm air to head our way from the south, and temperatures may reach 19-21c ( 66-70f ) in some places, though its only likely to be for a day or two.

Thanks for reading. Moley

^^ Sorry to hear that Jane but I'm afraid it does still look as though Thursday will be a rather wet day for much of London and The South East.

A succession of Low Pressure Systems moving in from the Atlantic seem to be a feature for many of us in the next few days as the Jet Stream heads north, shunting away the cold northern blocking of recent months.

The first of these Lows will probably reach us later this evening ( Wednesday ) before more follow on behind into the weekend, at least until Saturday. Sunday/Monday may see a brief respite, with temperatures rising quite dramatically as a plume of warm air attempts to move up from the south.

With sea temperatures in The English Channel way below average for this time of year this 'warm plume' could end up with the South Coast shrouded in fog, and therefore cold, damp and chilly, or it could also spark off some thunderstorms further inland as temperatures rise.

UPDATED SUNDAY APRIL 14TH 2013 @ 12.30 Hrs

Well the mercury is still rising Kremm. Currently 17.2c at Heathrow and the very strong breeze should assist in drying your car once you have washed it !!

Im not convinced by your forecast for rain from Monday through to Thursday though. Its more of a showery outlook with temperatures falling back to near average after today, so around 11-13c ( 52-55F ) for most of the week. Typical Spring weather really.

There are some signs of another warm up for next weekend, but beyond that the signs are that April could end on a colder than average note.
