I'm washing the car Saturday

Nice and bright at the moment. First morning I've driven in with the lights off, been too dark :)

Bring it round at 03:00. If you're not here by 04:00 the deal is off.

Several reports of hail and SLEET in the east of our region earlier this morning. This confirms what the models have been suggesting, that the Low Pressure system slowly trundling its way south over the UK contains some extremely cold upper air temperatures.

Most of the showers are confined to the east at the moment ( Essex, Kent ), but could break out further inland later today, and into tomorrow. Surface temperatures are currently 9-11c ( 48-52f ) in the London area, but will drop sharply in any showers.

I wonder if Kremms new car came equipped with snow chains/tyres ? ;)

Kremmen knows I won't be there at 3 a.m.

(I usually take my car to the Station Car Wash at Merrimans corner - they charge me £10 and they vacuum it too)

What's the weather looking like for Saturday Moley? We've got a team of painters coming to do our external painting then. I really hope they'll be able to get it done.

You may be in luck on Saturday Sunshine. After Fridays potential horror show (and it really does look quite grim ), Saturday should be a day of sunshine and showers at worst, 10-12c ( 50-54f ) is my best estimate.

Now if its car washes you are after, the best one I have found locally is at the Holiday Inn ( formerly the Aerial ) Hotel at Harlington Corner. £6 and that includes interior vacuum. Excellent service.

Saturday might be good then. The painter is having a nightmare sorting out external paint jobs so let's hope Saturday is fine.

I will try the car wash you mentioned. £6 sounds a bargain. Thanks

The whole weekend is looking fine. Tuesday looks dodgy though.

Listening to the radio traffic reports on the way home yesterday there were 2 road in Scotland shut because of snow !!!

Yes there are signs of an improvement over the Bank Holiday weekend Kremm but lets face it, things can hardly get any worse than it is today can it ?? Its all due to a brief ridge of High Pressure bringing 2 or 3 days of lighter winds, and far fewer showers over the weekend. Temperatures should pick up a few degrees in any locations that see the sun. ( As you would expect of course !! ).

Then as you say, things take another turn for the worse as yet another Low Pressure system is predicted to slide across the UK next week. Here in our region we may just hang on until late on Bank Holiday Monday before it turns unsettled again.

While snow on higher ground in Scotland is not that unusual at this time of year, snow was also reported much further south, and at much lower levels in England as well yesterday. Grim.

I'm still clinging to some of the more optimistic signals currently being shown as we head into June, and what is the official beginning of Summer. Watch this space.

**Sunshine: Yes give that car wash a try, it was certainly £6 when I last tried though that was some months ago now. Everywhere else in the area was charging £10 for the same service at that time. It is not suprisingly very popular with the many private hire mini-cab services who operate at Heathrow. Let me know what you think.

The decorator is convinced it's going to be a good day tomorrow. I'm pleased because we want to get the work out of the way.

It looks like a nice bank holiday weekend for everybody then :D
