I left luton airport 10 days ago without showing my passport to anyone,on arrival in Poland my passport was inspected closley by 3 different people before i was allowed in.
on my return my luggage was searched and a tool,blunt not any use as a weapon was picked out as being not to be in my hand luggage,luckily my girlfriend took the tool back home with her,at passport controll my passport was once again scrutinised,i was asked for further identification and had to supply a sample signature to see if it matched the one on my licence and passport.
on arrival at luton,i sailed straight through.....makes you wonder ?
