Here is a severe weather warning - I washed the car yesterday.

Glad I did because last Tue/Wed rain was loaded with sand.

This is the second day running that I've worn a short sleeved top - I was beginning to think I was going to wear winter clothes all year round.

Our shed now has a new roof so the weather can do its worst and we won't worry too much. :D

Looking good for the whole of this week :D

Not too hot though, low to mid 20's, just how I like it

My sort of temperature too Kremmen - I have really fair skin and burn easily so the hot weather just isn't for me.

At least you can work outdoors with this temperature. Once the shed is finished we have to paint the front fence and we don't want it too hot for that

Thanks for posting folks. I get bored just reading my own thoughts and predictions so it's always a pleasure to read someone elses !!

So far this week is panning out quite nicely as the High Pressure builds over the UK. As far as London and the South East is concerned the only fly in the ointment is the north easterly/easterly winds bringing in varying degrees of cloud to eastern facing coasts. Essex and North East Kent are particularly at risk.

Further inland though we should hold on to these pleasant conditions until the weekend at least, though cloud cover may increase from time to time, with the sunshine becoming hazy later in the week.

Temperatures on the coast will always be several degrees below those inland, but the colder than average surface sea temperatures around our shores are adding to the difference. Currently it's about 21-22c ( 70-72f ) in London, and 14-15c ( 57-59f ) on the South Coast.

Earlier models suggested we were in for a potential heatwave next weekend ( 24-25c / 75-77F ), but they have now scaled that back.

What a glorious week it has been so far though I wish we could just get rid of that nagging north easterly breeze and raise the temperature just a few degrees. My personal optimum for comfort is 24c ( 75f ).

We should hold on to these settled conditions for a few more days at least though Sunday still looks a bit uncertain. The real breakdown to more unsettled weather will take place next week though, from about Tuesday onwards. We lose the high pressure and the Atlantic influence takes control bringing much more in the way of cloud, rain and below average temperatures.

As things stand, that unsettled theme looks like staying in place well into the 3rd week of June so no signs of a prolonged summery spell just yet.

Thanks as always for reading and posting. Moley 8-)

  Not often I hear that said Pam !! The good news is we should hang on to the mostly SUNNY weather for at least the next 4/5 days. 8-)

If it's a heatwave you want then Scandinavia is currently the place to be. Helsinki has been the hottest capital city in Europe for much of this week with temperatures of 28-30c ( 82-86f ).

Europe's weather seems to have been turned upside down so far since late spring/early summer with the heatwaves up near the arctic circle, and dire weather through much of central Europe. Germany and Poland in particular are suffering unusually cold temperatures, heavy rains and flooding.

Some strange weather patterns for sure. Enjoy the weekend folks.
