I have never considered I am to good, to do a particular job, I have done it while checking on the irons I have in the fire, sooner or later one comes good, or I find a job that suits, I did the full term in harness from 14 to 65, now I get up, when I like, drink when I am thirsty, eat when I am hungry, sleep when I'm tired, bathe when I'm dirty, without the five days at the mill, life is what you make it, as I have said its not the biggest and the bestest, its them that make the least mistakes. ;) ;)

I can't wait for those days.

I currently get up far too early, chug round the M25 stupidly early to miss the worst, sit 8 hours pinned to this PC then sit in traffic on the M25 later on.

Mon-Fri same old routine and it's extremely tiring.

Be careful what you wish for, it comes very quickly, I have been out of the rat race for 15 years, keeping myself busy every day, with various projects, today finishing the grouting on my new non -slip tile in a bathroom, pick up my grandson, visit the donut shop, take him fishing, kick back and watch the sun go down with a large gin and tonic, somebodys got to do it! One problem I have is spending more time in the doctors waiting room than the bar room.

I was made redundant last October and am enjoying being out of the rat race. Luckily I don't have to sign on or complete loads of claim forms for benefits. I don't miss working but do miss the people I used to spend my days with.

Since I retired, I seem to be so busy 7 days a week. I wouldn't have time to go to work.

the Downside is all those good T/V progs you missed come around every day and once caught up its the same old thing, lay in bed till you feel like it, eat what, and when, you like, shop when they are empty, drive where and when without all the nutters charging around, should have done it years ago  ;)

Problem is, if we had done it years ago we would have to claim Job Seekers

I still get up early - can't seem to get out of the habit ......

Our dog is happy to lie and wait for me to come downstairs and let him out. He often stays on his rug while I make the tea - he's lazy.
