We have one of those in our garden and a couple of weeks ago some baby starlings were spinning around on it in the wind. They avoid it now but it did make me laugh.

My husband bought it ages ago and I've no idea how to use it.

:) Well if the starlings were spinning around on it at least you know the anenometer ( wind thingy with the 4 cups on it ) is working. That's one of the parts my neighbours cats broke on mine.

I'm a real technophobe but I found that weather station so easy to set up and get data from. It's a recording device basically, it won't forecast the weather though, other than to say rain or snow might be on the way in the next couple of hours, and what the general trend is.

Talking of general trend.......well this week is set to become more settled, not much rain expected and that pesky wind should take a break. Temperatures around average so 18-21c
( 64-70f ) for most of the week but hopefully warming up towards next weekend. The other niggle is that cloud may be reluctant to clear at times, so I'm not expecting too much in the way of sunshine. Overall then a very slow and gradual improvement here in London and The South East.

Have a good week folks. Moley 8-)

it's a nice day today. We took the dog for a walk across the fields and he kept going through the long grass and there were clouds of pollen in the air where he disturbed it all. He was covered in it and so were my shoes.

It is about time we had some nice weather :D

I hope you don't suffer from hay fever then Sunshine :!:

Well as just I thought, cloud cover has proved to be troublesome at times this week, and today is a prime example in the London area. The temperature did reach 21c for a while, but the cloud soon returned. There is a chance of rain in our region later in the week, and the weekend prospects are still uncertain but not looking too bad.

On a positive note, there are now some signs that the Azore High will make a welcome return in the first week of July, and if it does we can look forward to some very pleasant weather. More in the way of sunshine, and temperatures in the mid 20's .....watch this space.

It's good news then Moley - Hooray!

I do suffer from hay fever but luckily not grass pollen. My allergy is tree pollen and that's not too bad at the moment.

I've never seen pollen flying around in the air before though - amazing! I don't know what sort of grass is over there, if I take a picture can somebody guess at it? It's very high

Sssshh Sunshine :!: Please don't quote me on this but there are signs of an improvement on the way in the 7-10 day timeframe. As regular readers of this topic will know, I don't have too much faith in the computer models that far ahead, but I am looking for a positive and this may just be it.

That'll be welcome news for my 2.

They're off to Eastbourne next week. Last year they got washed out in Weymouth.

My daughter and her family got washed out at Weymouth too last year. This year they're going to Devon so we're hoping for a dry week for them.

It's looking good today! :D :D
