When we pay our energy bills we pay an extra fee to save the planet. This money is used to subsidise the wind farms that have sprung up around the country. These wind farms help the national grid by taking requirement away from the power stations. The government agreed to pay so much money to the wind farms to finance them.

It has now been revealed that the wind farms need very little workforce to run them. In fact the amount paid to the wind farms is way in excess of their operating costs. So where is this surplus cash going?

Quote:
A new analysis of government and industry figures shows that wind turbine owners received £1.2billion in the form of a consumer subsidy, paid by a supplement on electricity bills last year. They employed 12,000 people, to produce an effective £100,000 subsidy on each job.
The disclosure is potentially embarrassing for the wind industry, which claims it is an economically dynamic sector that creates jobs. It was described by critics as proof the sector was not economically viable, with one calling it evidence of “soft jobs” that depended on the taxpayer..........................In Scotland, which has 203 onshore wind farms — more than anywhere else in the UK — just 2,235 people are directly employed to work on them despite an annual subsidy of £344million. That works out at £154,000 per job......................Even if the maximum number of jobs that have been forecast are created, by 2020 the effective subsidy on them would be £80,000 a year.
One source, who owns several wind farms, and did not wish to be named, said: “Anybody trying to justify subsidies on the basis of jobs created is talking nonsense. Wind farms are not labour intensive.”

Why is it that whenever someone mentions a government subsidy there is someone who is ready to take advantage and rip us all off? Will this money be recovered and reimbursed through our energy bills?

Wind farms are probably amongst the most inefficient and ineffective source of energy yet devised. Don't kid yourselves that the extra taxes we are now paying through our energy bills are there to provide jobs in that 'industry', or providing 'green energy'.

The subsidies are going straight to the landowners where the windfarms are located. Many of them are already wealthy, and I believe a fair few of them have government and/or royal connections. I have seen reports which show these turbines actually use more energy than they produce.

When I have the time I will try and provide some links.

They are not as environmentally friendly as they are made out to be either. How's this for an impact on local weather conditions ?

... and all whilst OFGEM are confirming we may get brownouts by 2015 and no power plant construction planned.

Every government for the last 30 years has known about the restricted life expectancy of the UK's electricity generating plant – they have all been properly informed by engineers who know what they are talking about, of the risks they have been taking with the UK's energy supplies. Every government has chosen to do nothing to improve the situation, but they have all done a lot to increase the risk of blackouts.

Every government, and that includes, Thatcher, Major, Blair, Brown, Cameron/Clegg (including Ed Miliband – the PM in-waiting, when he was in office in the last Labour government); has also added to the threat to the working life of the generating plant by agreeing to every EU treaty/agreement that was placed before them. Every one of those 'leaders' was/are aware of what the future for UK power generation would be. Every government and influential politician has favoured insane 'green low carbon' power generation over coal, oil, gas, and nuclear power generation. And every government has known what the outcome would be. There is only one conclusion that can rationally be drawn by we ordinary folk, and that is; all governments and their political inmates have engineered the coming energy crisis. They want to close Britain down.

The intense and obvious lack of political action to positively deal with the coming energy crisis amounts to treason on behalf of the politicos and their greedy and destructive leaders in the power generation business.

The lack of sane and joined-up thinking by the politicians was highlighted only this week by Gideon Osborne. In his 2013 'spending review' Giddy announced a supposed increase in spending on the electrification of the railways. Where does giddy Gideon imagine the electricity is coming from to power his electric trains, when he and his government are over-seeing the willful destruction of the power generation supply by closing power stations and replacing them with windmills that don't work on windless and frosty days? The apparent insanity of the political elite can only be interpreted as high treason.
