Socialist politicians at their very best....... No doubt David was giving them a heads up on how to claim all the taxpayer funded subsidies there are going!!
In the 1970s people always complained that Labour was run by the unions that financed them. Now they use their time in Opposition to fund their own campaigns when party memberships are lower than before.
Plus with Scottish devolution theres now a need for an English layer in most parties structures so they can fight for devolution fo England.
