Saturday ended up being a much better day than was forecasted but today is certainly making up for it.

Sure was good day Saturday especially for the Scarlets, Sunday however not the best day for cycling to Badminton the heathrow conservation area was quite muddy.

It has been a while since I posted so apologies to anyone who still reads this topic.

So far this month has seen our weather being largely influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and mild South Westerlies, and that pattern looks set to continue for the foreseable future. Mild/Warm air crossing long expanses of relatively warm seas at this time of year will produce plenty of energy and moisture in the atmosphere, and that energy will result in a succession of Low Pressure Systems forming to our west, guided by the Jet Stream.

This is a fairly typical mid Autumn set up and will result in some stormy conditions, mostly confined to the North and West of the UK, but here in London and The South East we can expect some unsettled weather at times.

This weekend is showing signs of being quite volatile, particularly in Southern coastal areas. Saturday may well see some heavy showers and thunderstorms developing along the South Coast, some of which may head further inland as the day progresses. Sunday should be a quieter day, but always with the threat of isolated heavy showers cropping up.

The good news for those of us dreading the recently announced extortionate gas and electricity price increase is that there is no sign of cold weather on the horizon yet. long may that continue.

For any skywatchers reading this topic you might be interested to know that if the skies are clear above the UK tonight you may be able to witness a 'Penumbral Eclipse' of the full moon. This is a a phenomenon I had never heard of until today, but perhaps worth looking out for.

Thanks as always for reading and posting. Moley 8-)

Where and when is the firework display at Ruislip BG ? I used to go to the one at Ruislip Rugby Club but that was always held much closer to November 5th.

Ruislip Lido Fireworks are 7pm on Sunday October 20th. It's good to see the facilities at the Lido getting a facelift, I can remember being taken there for a day out as a child 50 years ago !!
