I will concede that a wet and windy spell of weather is on the way, but then I said as much a few days ago.

The Met Office have issued warnings for London and The South East for Friday, Sunday and Monday as per the links below:

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weat ... ionName=se

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weat ... ionName=se

Rainfall totals are the main concern with these warnings, but there will be strong to gale force winds to contend with at times, especially for Southern Coastal areas and Saturday could see the worst of the gales.

Not particularly good news for many of the organised firework displays planned for this weekend, but house prices should remain stable for the time being ;)

Many thanks as always for reading and posting. Moley 8-)

So far the worst of the rainfall this evening is occurring to the south of London, and along the South Coast in particular. The latest Met Office output suggests this may be the case for much of the weekend. Subject to change as always.

It's been a very wet evening and night for many of us here in London and the South East but hopefully the rain will clear through by Monday morning, leaving a mostly bright and dry day. The outlook for the rest of the week remains unsettled though, and according to the computer models another Atlantic Storm looks possible next weekend. Again I will be trying to keep a watch on this.

The worst of the weekends gales were reserved for South Wales, and how about this for a wave ? Crashing ashore at Aberystwth on Saturday evening:

Or this:

As a result the beach and sea front road were pretty much indistinguishable the following morning:

There are some signs that once we get through this Atlantic influenced unsettled spell High Pressure may begin to build from the South after next weekend.

That should lead to calmer conditions, much less in the way of rainfall but an increasing chance of lower daytime temperatures, overnight frost and mist/fog for us in London and The South East. Typical late Autumn weather in other words.

It was quite muddy along the canal to the Coy Carp quiz this evening, but a fantastic clear sky that made the stars look great.

^^^ Meteorologicaly*** speaking not until December 1st Kremm. There was quite a switch around during the night and the temperature fell to 2.3c at Raf Northolt under mostly clear skies ( hence BG's star-gazing ). An hour later I was woken by the sound of heavy rain and the temperature was on the rise.

I'm still seeing mixed messages regarding the potential for another stormy spell next weekend, the models seem unwilling or unable to agree on it yet. Further updates once the situation becomes clearer.

*** I have almost as much difficulty spelling that word as I do saying it !
