How much do they charge my car is desperate for a clean?

I used to use one local to me in Northwood Hills and they charged £10 for inside and out. When they first started they did a very good job, but seem to have slackened a lot just lately. Complacency has crept in, and my custom will be taken elsewhere as a result.

I choose to use established car washes, many of these car park and roadside merchants employ illegal immigrants under the radar and well below minimum wage and are able to dodge the authority's as this employment is very fluid anyway.

As for Tesco....

Not the first time they have used the 'bait and switch' technique to gain extra FREE publicity either.....

From Moley's Telegraph link

Quote:
The supermarket group told its 200,000 workers yesterday that it wants to raise by two years the age at which they can claim their full pension.
The company, Britain’s biggest supermarket, also announced that it intends to move the inflation index it uses to calculate annual payment increases from the retail prices index (RPI) to the “cheaper” consumer prices index (CPI), which excludes mortgage payments, council tax and house price depreciation.
The switch could mean workers receive up to 20 per cent smaller payouts upon retirement, experts said.

Pension payments are made by employees and held in trust by the Company in a fund overseen by a joint committee of management and employee trustees.

I wonder if they think they have the clout to rail road this through committee?

The fact is that a Tesco etc , is cheaper than a local shop
so wages reflect this , not the employees , but everyone , who shops in a supermarket
so will wages rise , if we all shop locally , nope

Tesco, Sainsburys and the rest of them are to blame for the demise of local town centres across the land.

Look at Hayes town for example. As opposed to 20 years ago how many butchers, greengrocers and other local type shops which used to be the backbone of the community are left?

its us that is to blame , we shop at supermarkets
i have seen local shop owners shopping in them as well !!
Until wages are allowed to increase , we cant afford to shop locally , but wages have been held down for decades now , and have not kept pace with inflation.
I would say in my industry , wages are about 20 to 30 % less than they should be since the last 15 years or so , if i look at what money is worth now and then
