Well after what was a really awful winter for many it's a pleasure to read that folk are now enjoying this early burst of Spring.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the temperature may have reached 20c somewhere in the London area today ( Sunday ), but the official Met Office site at Northolt recorded a definate and very respectable 19.7c.

I haven't really looked in too much detail, but it does seem that high pressure will be with us for much of the coming week so I would say the outlook remains settled and mostly dry. Cloud amounts will vary so maximum temperatures may be subdued, and there is a risk of fog and frost in more rural areas.

Still not a bad start to the season though.

Not a bad start at all, Moley

This weekend I covered 52 miles, in the glorious sunshine last march I only managed 28 miles, with rides planned for the rest of the month(weather dependent) I should hit the 250 mark.

Especially as I'm taking part in the 50miles sports relief event in East London on 23rd,I'm praying the weather holds up nothing worse than cycling in the cold wet rain, urgh!!!

A lovely day all around yesterday and 20.5°C in Gravesend - can any one get near that in this area?

It looks set to continue being nice through this week and temps may not be as high as yesterday, but expect daytime maxes of 16/18°C from tomorrow onwards, still chilly at night down to 3 or 4°C. Dry right through and getting slightly cloudier on Saturday.

What a difference a day makes.

Yesterday, unbroken sunshine under azzure blue skies and the temperature nudging 20c, today here in Northwood it was a blanket of cloud and the mercury struggled to reach a more seasonal 11.7c.

Such is the nature of our weather, and particularly in this transitional season.

I hope to update as the week progresses, but a quick glance suggests things should remain settled for the next few days at least, and the sun may well make a welcome return. Having said that the South Coast fared quite well today by all accounts.

Thanks as always for reading and posting. Moley. 8-)

A proper pea-souper out here in Sussex this morning with visibility down to 50M in places.

Doesn't look too bad in West London?

We've not had a bad week. It was a little bit misty earlier in the week which gave the fog light brigade the excuse to blind everyone else when they weren't really necessary.

Good evening folks, and thanks for all the recent posts.

What a spell of weather this has been and very much needed for the rain soaked south. Quite apart from the lack of rain the temperature has exceeded 16c somewhere in London and the South East for the last 9 consecutive days. A stark contrast to one year ago when we were experiencing one of the coldest March's on record.

Little wonder it is so difficult to make predictions.

The computer models are once again proving difficult to interpret, with some suggesting a return of the Jet Stream further south towards the middle/end of next week. I'm going to hedge my bets for now and hopefully post my thoughts in more detail later.

Sunday looks good so enjoy the weather. Moley 8-)
