Good job we haven't got that third runway with its added pollution

That's a difficult call to be honest Kremmen. The worst of this weeks pollution came from the continent and north Africa as a result of south/south easterly winds. Our prevailing winds in the UK are from the south west, and are pretty effective at blowing any pollution into mainland Europe, where most of it comes from in the first place.

:)

A potentially wet and windy start is on the cards for Monday with a slight risk of localised flooding as a frontal system heads in from the west during the day.

Moley. 8-)

After today's rain gets out of the way, looks like we are in for a drier, if not ever so slightly chiller week right through the weekend. This could be the first BBQ of 2014 at Chez Coast! (in woolly hat and thick jumper!)

Nah, I'll soon that out.

Car wash next Monday followed by a trip to Malvern Tuesday = rain, hail, frogs & locusts

I have experienced the perfect storm. A new laptop bought online and it runs on Windows 8.1. It would be easier piloting an Airbus A380.

I hope to get back to some semblance of normality soonish, but in the meantime please keep the weather forum ticking along in my absence.

Moley :?

Windows 8.1, you have my sympathy.

When I get my new PC in October I will be installing Window7 64 bit. The net is full of people who have also gone back to win7 because "it just works".

Back to weather I'm hearing we are in for a nice few weeks with above average temps ?

You've been reading too much Daily Express!

There is a train of thought currently that the back end of April may be a little more unsettled. Some of the longer range weather models are currently updating, so I'll need to have a look later and see which looks more likely.

The Met Office only go out to 5 days with any degree of certainty, they have a nice sunny spell generally until Monday.

I have a history of when I wash the car the weather suddenly changes, against all forecasts, and it then chucks it down.

It bit too early to say with any certainty, but the Easter weekend is looking reasonable on the current computer models with a potential 18, maybe even 20°C for parts of London and the SE. I'll keep an eye on it for the next few days and hopefully update early next week.
