A smashing BH weekend down here in Sussex and still sunny today, but no use to us office bound types!

Things look more unsettled over the next few days with sunny spells and generally dry up to tomorrow evening then some rain arriving in the early hours. Thursday looking rainy then into Friday it's dull, but dry again. Saturday sees more rain although if you get up early enough, it's bright and sunny Sunday morning before more rain comes across.

Temps seem to peak today around 20°C then drop to maxes around 13/14°C for the rest of the week.

Not so bad really!

Indications and some computer model information coming through for the longer term outlook (2 weeks +) that we might be in for a little more sunshine and increased warmth (over the seasonal norm) in the later part of this month, but I'll keep an eye on how this develops later in the week.

Looks like a few days of sunshine and showers still to come, with a good possibility of a brief lull from around Wednesday next week. Monday might see some isolated thunderstorms over West London but with an Azores High building to our South, midweek into next weekend looks dry, partly cloudy and with temperatures in the high teens, maybe 21/22°C possible in the region next Thursday. It still looks gusty up to the middle of next week with possible gusts peaking around 32 mph at times.

Have a great weekend all!

Good evening folks and thanks once again for reading and posting.

Coast was not far off the mark with his prediction of thunderstorms but they have mostly affected areas just to the north and east of our region for the last 2 or 3 days.

As the Low pressure slips further east, taking the cold upper temperatures with it, High Pressure is indeed on the cards. Conditions should settle down considerably over the next few days with temperatures gradually rising as we head towards the weekend.

I'm going to be slightly more optimistic and suggest that we may even see the mercury reach 22-24c ( 72-75f ) for a day or two inland, though obviously a few degrees cooler in coastal regions. I am fairly confident this prediction will hold true until at least the latter end of the weekend for London and the South East.

Have a good week whatever the weather.

Looks like those storms are back and lurking, with a couple of strikes near to Heathrow reported a short while ago:

^^ Today ( Tuesday ) once again saw an outbreak of thunderstorms but yet again these were largely confined to the north and east of our region. For us storm lovers it was mostly a case of close but no cigar once again.

Conditions will be settling down for the next few days but there are signs that another spell of unsettled weather is likely to return as early as the end of next weekend. What are your thoughts Coast ?

I think I may have been over optimistic regarding maximum temperatures in my earlier post, we can but hope.

Morning all!

Just a heads up, looks like a few nice days over the weekend with some lovely temps and sunshine. But getting into Monday afternoon and Tuesday, there is a bit of uncertainty as to exactly where, but heavy rain is forecast out to the West. I'm keeping an eye on the progression of the models for this one and it does seem like it might be way out West, but it will be heavy and thundery. Longer term the end of the month is also looking pretty wet currently. More detail to follow and Moley should be able to give an update and more info.
