Reminds me of the old Marty Feldman sketch which started off predicting swarms of locusts, Armageddon, dragons of fire, etc followed by "and the rest of the night will be mainly fine with a few light showers"

The Met Office issued the following weather warnings earlier today ( Tuesday ) for possible weather issues next Saturday.

Whilst the potential is certainly there, I'm surprised they have issued a warning this early. It's not a criticism by any means. Worth keeping an eye on developments over the next few days though.

We had better batten down the hatches folks because according to the ' experts ' the Daily Excess is happy to throw their money at, we are about to experience not just monsoons, but also typhoons** in dear old Blighty this week.

I'm actually quite disturbed that the Daily Ex via Nathan Rao and others are peddling these OTT headlines yet again. For sure there is a good possibility of some thunderstorms and hail in our area and as long as there is no loss or damage to life or livelihood, then I'll enjoy natures light-show.

If you want to know what the general public think of the Daily Ex and Nathan, just read the comments after the article, very funny and very true!

Trying to quote Coast's earlier post but this is the best I could manage.

Nathan Rao is beyond parody and can't be taken seriously but as Coast has mentioned, I find it quite disturbing that his ridiculously absurd predictions are given the time of day on the front page of a so called national 'newspaper' on a regular basis. Deliberately misinforming the public is neither clever or funny. Rao makes a habit of this.

Having got my previous post off my chest I am following the potential developments for our region this weekend with interest.

Coast is far more knowledgeable than me in this respect so I look forward to his input.

The next few days could well provide some interesting weather for London and The South East though, and all being well I will be watching it on the South Coast.

The latest BBC reports seem to indicate a band from North Wales to the the North East as being the flash points ?

Good evening folks and my apologies for the lack of updates.

I am currently house sitting for friends in East Sussex and enjoying the weather. Since my arrival here on Thursday evening it's been quite pleasant with a good deal of warm sunshine, and all the signs are it will continue in that vein for the next few days at least in our region.

I had a bonus tonight. A thunderstorm in the very near vicinity.

Thanks as always for reading and posting.

Yes not too bad a weekend either, managed to get drenched Saturday morning but dried out nicely in the afternoon, followed by Sunday which was glorious all day. Achieved 86 miles or so

Monday yep me too stuck in the WAH office and again today :-(

Looking forward to some picnics at the weekend though, Minet Park on Saturday and Runnymede on Sunday. Is the weather going to last til then I wonder?
