Just been reading about a murder in Collingwood Road Hillingdon and the arrested person has been released on bail till March.

I don't understand why they release these people if they have a strong case unless they want them to flee.

I have just read the story and would say the only reasonable explanation would be that there is not enough evidence to formally charge him. Therefore they would have to let him out on bail pending further investigations.

Sometimes at the beginning of an investigation when the facts are not fully known, it is necessary to make an arrest to ensure that the suspect or witness receives a caution under the Police And Criminal Evidence Act (PACE). To be fair, it is possible to caution somebody without arresting them, but without this sort of attention to detail, it is not possible to hold someone for questioning and any evidence gained this way may be deemed inadmissible later

It appears a second arrest has now been made of a man who has been charged with GBH of a PC bu failed to turn up in Court.

He sounds like a right charmer!

Depending which News you believe, one says he has been charged while other says he has jumped bail & last seen on a train, no mention of what train " Euro Express " already out the country no doubt to return later & carry on way he has been.

It's the same with illegal immigrants. They are released back into society until investigations are complete. It doesn't take a genius to realise that they are going to go underground.

If you are an illegal immigrant (note the word illegal) why are they not locked up ?fingerprinted DNA etc
and if they are deported , why are not banned for life from the UK

Crazy isn't it. These border control programs on the telly show them being caught working years after their visitors visa has expired. They are then released and told to report to a police station daily or weekly pending investigations. More often than not they disappear.
