Also known as a negligent discharge...

No one was injured but the accidental discharge of a firearm meant someone could have have been.... Slick weapon handling drills are taught to avoid scenarios such as this. People who handle firearms are highly trained for a specific reason... To be safe.

If this was the army this chap would be facing a charge with a potential to do some jail time or a fine up to £500.00

Last one I saw was on NI training chap fell (was pushed by stand in agitators) down some stairs doing simulated house clearing in the specialist training ranges at Hythe. Safety catch on the rifle was off and he accidentally fired a blank round.

£500 fine and restriction of privileges for 6 Months. This was back in the early 80's when £500 was worth a lot more than it is today....

Our coppers shot a bloke last night, he had 5 hostages and a replica pistol. Serves him right.
