Well you have to see their point of view.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-34502956

Quote:
Residents of a village near Heathrow Airport say they are being "overwhelmed" by people seeking asylum in the UK.

Longford in Hillingdon could be demolished if a third runway is built at neighbouring Heathrow Airport.

A hotel is providing accommodation in houses it has bought for asylum seekers, including those from the so-called "Jungle" in Calais.

Much more of this and the third runway will be far more welcome..

Coming to a village near you soon......

Wow. Sounds like Longford is changing rapidly. This throws up all sorts of issues. For a start, I hope the hotel owner has permission to change the use of residential properties into hotels, which are commercial properties. It's not the same as running an HMO, as the guests are paying (or rather being paid for) per night, and won't have any kind of tenancy agreement. If he did get planmning permission for a change of use, he surely shouldn't have. Planning laws exist precisely to prevent this kind of situation arising. A residential street is supposed to be residential, a house is not supposed to be turned into a hotel!

Very controversial.

Are Hillingdon aware of the hotel expansion?

Who is this hotel owner ?

I hope the locals ignore him and make his life hell like he is doing to them.

Probably lives somewhere far away though.

I know it's local to us so we feel more agrieved but this really is unacceptable. What are the Gov playing at at our expense.

That poor chap with immigrants both sides.

Think that motor is owned by that little firm that resides at the top of Park lane. Am sure I have seen it parked there.

Probably in breach of planning conditions as well running that sort of business from the family home.
