It’s true we have a kamikaze one term government, so out of touch with the real world, with real people, I cant help wondering if the Lib/Dems also have a death wish, as we drift aimlessly from disaster to disaster, Labour unable to capitalize as they realize it was them that plundered the kitty during their long term in office, and just maybe they have been rumbled this time by the electorate, The question remains who, or what have we to replace a system that clearly does not work? Communist? Don’t think so as it was Labours leaning toward it that set the ball rolling, capitalism that works for some, but widens the gap between rich, and poor, Personally I would be in favour of a benign dictator, a successful director of some multi national company, with a proven track record, pay him/her a Million pounds a year, plus a bonus on whatever surplus balance, each year, he/she would appoint his/her own committee, the only other alternative is a retro step a political party as yet untried, that in a nutshell is the problem facing this great Country of ours. ;) ;)

Heard on the R4 this morning that some influential think tank takes the view there are going to be swings to the political right as a result of all the austerity measures put through in Europe and those yet to come here.

No co-incidence then that the English Defence League are going to reform into a political party called Freedom!! Clearly they sniff an opportunity and with the ammunition this and successive Governments have given them who can blame them?

Massive numbers of Kids unemployed with the situation only going to get worse!! And jobs to all and sundry who want to swan in from the EU.

Wage rises have hit the buffers despite inflation running @ around 10% per annum (don't believe what they tell you) and a race to the bottom underway (as per the tankers drivers strike) and the want of the employers to take on cheaper staff from Eastern Europe despite the likes of BP and Shell making record profits year on year.

I could go on adding to this list but long time readers of this site will be fully aware of other issues.

We know the last Qtr of 2011 saw a contraction. Its thought the 1st Qtr of 2012 fared no better although the fuel stampede figures have yet to be crunched against GDP. The Government advice on refuelling may not have been a mistake or error in order to put off a technical recession and the double dip which it looked like was going to occur.

Coming off the back of a bad budget for the Tories and the cash for influence allegations it certainly turned the media attention elsewhere. If the rush has tipped GDP to the better then the Government will have avoided a very damaging (for their governance) double dip scenario.

Truth be known the 3 party system is dead, there is no discernible difference between any of them and they are all as corrupt as each other. Galloway has shown what can be done if you can motivate the electorate into a certain direction.

This will not have been lost on the English Defence League nor the BNP....

I have to agree, the 3 main parties have let us down big time.

How did Blair get away with it for so long and get voted in again ???

Controversial, but we are being ethnically cleansed on this small island.

Received that message forty years ago and Emigrated to Canada. UK lost one Chartered Engineer: one Specialist Doctor / Medical Proffessor and one Computer Systems Analyst. May be reverse discrimination / Race relations act is costing the UK ?

I remember Enoch Powell being ridiculed with his prophecy, a real thorn in the side, for Labour who would do anything to discredit him, because he did hurt them, now its plain to see why! even the Tories disassociated them selves from him, and all he ever did was speak the truth as he saw it, as it happens he had more grasp of the situation, than all the rest put together. :o  8-)

Presume this is an April Fool - else this dictator might take all your pension to pay things off?

if he/she could do that on my pension, then first he/she will have a degree from the Gordon Brown school of economics with distinction, I think every chancellor has done this and failed, maybe my pension is insufficient, and to bring that into line, would increase the countries liability, sounds like a typical Tory plan. :o :o
