I love the sunshine. It was funny though how it stayed warm and sunny the minute the fitters came to install our new double glazing. We haven't had the central heating on since the start of May (my bank account is breathing a sigh of relief)

Everything is growing now - trees have leaves on (finally) and the grass needs cutting. Brilliant.

^^ Lol.

Well Sunshine you were certainly lucky with the timing of the work you had done. It's pretty wild out there now, Raf Northolt has recorded gusts in excess of 40mph since 2pm this afternoon, and it was blowing a hooley long before that.

I've seen several local reports of fallen branches affecting road and rail, together with damage to outbuildings. Winds should gradually decrease later this evening, and tomorrow ( Friday ) should be a lot calmer.

I will try and do a more detailed forecast later, but the outlook is anything but summery for some time to come.

Moley :(

It's been an interesting day - strong winds, rain and sunshine. At least I got the washing dry on the line. :D

What's happening tomorrow?

Its no good asking me any more Sunshine....I have been hopelessly wrong just lately. I'm blaming my medication. Glad you managed to dry the washing but how many streets away was it when you eventually found it ?!

The pattern for the next 10-14 days looks distinctly unsettled with Low Pressure dominating our weather during that time. By and large I expect temperatures to be near or below average, but rainfall could be a problem after what has been a fairly dry spell recently here in London and The South East. I can't see any real signs of a settled spell of warm summery weather between now and the end of May to be honest. In the unlikely event we do manage to see a day or two of warmer temperatures next week, the chances are they wil quickly end with a breakdown of thundery showers.

Moley :?

The way things have been going I wouldn't expect anyone to know what's in the pipeline.

Computer models are no doubt programmed to compare old with current and what happened last time. The problem is that the current bears no resemblance to the past because it's all shifting.
