I'm surprised that it's taken the authorities this long to realise this gaping huge hole in the immigration system! Its such an obvious ruse - enrol in a UK college and then come here, find work and stay. And of course the so-called "colleges" do very nicely out of it, receiving £6,000 per "student" - what a gigantic con!

Quote:
100,000 foreign students go missing every year: College leavers from Asia thought to be living on in Britain illegally

Government tracking system cannot find evidence students ever left UK
Tens of thousands may now be living here illegally after completing studies
Majority of students under suspicion are from the Indian sub-continent
Records show they originally came to UK to attend universities and colleges

The Government haven't just woken up to this it has been going on for years!!

Education and foreign students coming here to learn is a Billion £££ export industry..... They know all about it but take the view the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Just another avenue for them to increase growth through immigration without too many people noticing.

If you want the authorities to have easier controls (and to be able to find and deport these people) then you should welcome the compulsory introduction (and carrying) of ID Cards.

Trouble is Labour or the Tories are not going to give them to you.....

You might recently have heard of a man though who might!!!

I would have thought a vetting and registration system for these so-called colleges would be a good starting point. They seem to have carte blanche to do what they like and of course the more foreign "students" they can attract the more mollah they earn! It's like a fast-track illegal immigration system that falls below the radar.

Labour had numerous amnesty schemes for illegals in their 13 years in power. The Tories promised to reduce immigration even made a manifest promise then did naff all about it.

They are not interested in dealing with it. Immigration = growth, its one of the things which keeps the plates spinning and the insurmountable levels of debt falling off those plates. More people chasing ever decreasing numbers of houses = house price inflation = keeps the proles happy so they tolerate it.

It's all part of the game all governments are addicted to it..

It may be population growth but this Gov are intent on reducing services like hospitals so teh 'real' wait to be seen is many hours regardless of the pain you are in.

I noted a recent survey where the vast majority of UKIP voters have said they will definitely be voting UKIP next year. I wasn't polled but add me to that list.

Years ago I was befriended by an Asian guy in Portsmouth, he told me he was a student, I met him in a billiard hall, I think he was studying Snooker, the last I heard he was busted for running a billiard hall in Portsmouth and illegally selling booze. It was ok with me, I got my Tax money back from him on the tables.
